One of my favorite places to get my handbag fix is TJ Maxx. They have THE most gorgeous bags, clutches, shoes and other accessories in town. I also love their body lotion, pillows, and skin care. But their claim to fame in my world is their designer handbags (Baby Phat, Gwen Stefani’s line, Giorgio Armani, Dooney & Bourke, Chanel, Kathy Van Zeeland, Tommy Hilfiger, etc…)- bags you can’t find anywhere else…and certainly not at the prices they sell them for. So when I got an e-mail alert telling me that TJ Maxx is having a “Designer Handbag Event” starting this Sunday (August 5, 2007), I nearly dropped my coffee. With my birthday this month, I can definitely see a handbag or two in my immediate future. Now to backtrack and give a definitive answer to a few of those family members who asked what I wanted. “Ohhhh, noth-ing…” has been upgraded to “Ohhhh, a TJ Maxx handbag….” See their website for the store nearest you, as well as to whet your appetite with their goodies.
I’ve been a Loyal-with-a-capital-L fan and customer of AVON products for two forevers….well, two forevers going on three. The only drawback was having to find a new rep whenever we moved, or trying to hang on to one once we found one. But since AVON opened up such an amazing online store, I no longer have the rep headache. They’re available to me 24/7 and I get my goodies SO much faster! If Avon were sold in stores, it would fast become the top selling make-up and skin care retailer in the country. The stuff is THAT good. Everyone knows about their amazing perfumes and colognes, their Skin So Soft line, and their infamous bubble bath (I’d love to be in a tub filled with the pink stuff right now!)…but most people don’t realize that their ANEW skin care line is recommened by the most expert of the experts in skin care. It’s off the charts - giving you glowing skin and a more youthful appearance almost immediately. At least that was my experience - as well as countless others who’ve said the same thing. Thier make-up is nothing short of spectacular, too. I’m not sure how they swing it, but their eyeshadow, lipsticks, foundation, and blush all stay on longer than the store brands. Yet, the price is usually less. I also use their nail polish and other products inn their nail care line. Click any of the links or pictures above to jump to the website and take a good look around. Although they’re birthstone colors, I see absolutely nothing wrong with combining them to make a gorgeous statement like the model in the picture. Especially since they’re priced at 2 for $20! AVON jewelry lasts forever - I have pieces that my mother got, like 100 years ago. They simply do no tear up, change colors or run away from home.
I love Bath and Body Works - especially the Japanese Cherry Blossom scent - but it seems to me that AVON lasts even longer. I’m not sure why, to be honest, but AVON will last two forevers - even though I use it just as often as the other brands. I think each product comes with little fairies that refill the bottle each night. Much appreciated, little bottle-filling fairies, much appreciated. |
