The first couple of style attended the First Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon on February 21, 2008 and strutted their considerable stuff in grand fashion. They always look so flawless, beautiful, and so in love. That’s a look that can’t be beat. I love her dress and the shoes are killing me! I also love the way her clutch matches Tom’s top - very nice. Katie has become one of my top style icons. She’s as elegant and stylish as they come.

The chain strap and the beading had me from “Hello,” but the little silver trimming is the thing that made me fall head over arms. The chain strap can be removed to convert it into a clutch - that’d look pretty sexy, too. The purse is available in three colors: black (mine, mine, it’s all mine!), tan, and silver. Click the link or the purse, itself to take a closer look. Someone who purchased the little lovely left a review that said, “No dislikes at all. I really like the purse and it is exactly what I wanted.” And that’s pretty much all I need to know…

From the website: Take a trip back in time with this timeless Pop Art Handbag. From Whiting and Davis, masters at mesh design, this dazzling handbag features vibrant retro shapes printed on its silver-brushed metal mesh. A dainty silver-brushed metal chain looks elegant draped over your shoulder and a rectangular frame with an angular clasp closure keeps your belongings beautifully secure. We may soon be uttering the word Supermodels again - and I, for one, couldn’t be happier. Vogue recently devoted an issue (May ‘07) to the up and coming models, and most experts are picking these girls to be hugely successful. I miss the days of following my favorite model(s), seeing which ones get which coveted covers, who walks this designer’s runway, who walks that designer’s runway, who snags a contract with Loreal, Maybelline, Cover Girl, or Revlon. I’ve been waiting for the next group of girls to light up the fashion and magazine world the way Christy, Cindy, Linda, Naomi, Niki, Amber, Shalome, and Tyra did (My favorites are in bold.). All Supermodels, all known by their first name as well as their face.
Hopefully, though, we’re on the brink of a whole new, beautiful era. The girls you see in this post may be carrying the torches needed to light everything up again. Vogue.com’s homepage recently gave us the promising headline, “The Return of the Model.” After reading their feature article, I get the feeling they’re as eager for her return as we are! The beautiful model at the top of the post is a favorite of mine (favorites get the best spots - in addition to the bold treatment). Her name is Doutzen - pronounced Doubt-zen. She’s featured in the newest issue of Vogue in a gorgeous pictorial (I’ll scan the pictures in this weekend), the sort of pictorials that Christy was known for. While she doesn’t resemble Christy Turlington (my all-time favorite model), she has a similar type of “other world-ly” beauty and grace. I think she’ll be a household name very, very soon. Since this is an Arm Candy blog and I’m obsessed with all arm sweets, I have to point out the Balenciaga Python Bag Doutzen’s holding in the picture. Unfortunately her dress is hiding most of the bag - but it’s obvious that it’s a beauty. Jessica Stam (the lovely blonde in the quirky little hat) and Chanel (the leggy beauty to the right, working the huge hat) are two more favorites. The three of them are leading the way, in my opinion, and inside of a year - I expect them to be as well known as any model has ever been known. There’s a certain “it” when it comes to models. Something that goes past a face as beautiful as Doutzen’s, past the obvious love the camera has for Jessica, and even past Chanel’s legs. I’ve seen photographer’s, agents, designers, and other models struggle to define “it.” Even Tyra Banks, who can practically wear each of those titles can’t quite pin a definition on “it” - even though she, herself, owns “it!” The only thing they all know is “it” separates a model from a Supermodel, and that we’ve all been waiting to see “it” again. It’s been a long time coming, but the time has finally arrived! IT‘S BAAAAACK! Here’s another Great look - and by Great, I mean knock dead gorgeous. I love this set as much as I did the first set, and that’s saying a great deal. I swear, I’m running out of adjectives with this collection! I love it when designers create fashions that people would actually wear - not just fashions that look hot on runways. Chanel is the master of this very thing, which is why the fashion world is his kingdom. Click each t-nail for the (much) larger picture. These are head to toe hot. I don’t know what floors me more - the clutch, the bracelets or the sweet way the top accentuates the hands and jewelry. I’m also loving the boots, again. This is one of my favorite Chanel collections ever. SET 3Credit: Celebrity City I may not like the second set quite as well as the first, but the jewels are amazing and the color of the bag and top are mesmerizing. The boots are pretty hot, too. (You’ll definitely want to see the larger image of the back view - the boots reveal a little something unexpected). Click each t-nail to see the HQ version. The jewels will make you drool. Hollywould is named for it’s Creative Director, Holly Dunlap. Click HERE to read about the ridiculously talented designer. When I Googled the name “Hollywould” (I told you I was a purse stalker), I found the website I Love Hollywould.com, but when I searched the site, I actually found a few handbags I liked even better than the satin clutch. Maybe it’s my intense love of flowers and all things Spring and Summer…or maybe it’s the knowledge that I couldn’t even carry my make-up in a clutch, let alone everything else. The beauty above and to the left is the Hibiscus Capri Tote. It’s a practical, sensible, very functionable bag without looking like a…well, like a practical, sensible, very funtionable bag. The 411: Signature green hibiscus print fabric and brown leather with silver hardware and bamboo handle. Bag dimensions: 18in x 17in x 5in. Made in Italy. Hollywould also offers a hot little matching Clutch (pictured below). The attached Bamboo bracelet makes this the perfect companion for a walk in the park or day at the zoo…or at the State Fair, carnival, Disneyland - wherever Summer carries you!
