Just What the Doctor Satchel Ordered

by Joi on March 1, 2007

Elliott Lucca Floral Doctor's SatchelYou know how it is when you “meet” a new actor or actress in a movie, fall in love with them and then realize you have to see everything they’ve ever been in?  That’s how it was for me and Angelina Jolie.  I’d always thought she was just some ridiculously beautiful face that happened to make movies.  Then I saw her in Girl, Interrupted and realized that she’s a scary good actress.

And now I’m on a mission to see every movie the lady’s ever done.

On the fashion front, it recently happened to me with a designer - Elliott Lucca.

I was pouring over the pages in the March 2007 edition of People Stylewatch when I saw one of his bags (”Socialite”) - a gorgeous woven leather satchel that lived up to its name.  It looks like something Jackie O or Princess Diana would have carried.

 Elliott Lucca's Socialite Dr. Satchel

(Pictured at the left.)  The “Socialite” Dr. Satchel comes in two colors - Light Camel with Chestnut or the one shown here, Natural with White.  The website described her this way:  “This stylish satchel lends a moneyed feel to any outfit and is uber chic in soft woven leather finished with signature gold hardware and a frame covered in waxed cord.”  I love that, “…lends a moneyed feel..” - that’s exactly a phrase I’ve often looked for when describing special purses.  All I’ve ever been able to come up with were words like, “rich,” “glammed up,” –things like that.  But, “…lends a moneyed feel…”  I like that!  And I love the purse they were used on.  To see the other available color, and alternate views, see Elliott Lucca’s Socialite Dr. Satchel

The floral beauty at the top of the post is the LUCCA FLORAL DR. SATCHEL. When I first saw this bag, I think my heart skipped a beat.  Okay, several beats.  This is one of the all-time most gorgeous bags ever.  She lets everyone know that you take pride in your fashion, in your look, and in yourself.  And she’s waiting on the website - just in time for Spring!  (Lucca Floral Doctor Satchel)

These are, of course only two of the gorgeous purses in the collection.  You HAVE to visit Elliott Lucca.com and see the rest.  I’m headed back there, myself, right now.  I won’t get anything done today - I can tell already.

Roberto Cavalli Handbag

by Joi on February 24, 2007

Roberto Cavalli Bag

I love the simplicity and strength of this Roberto Cavalli clutch.  It and the model carrying it were part of the hugely successful Fashion week in Milan.

I love the way she’s carrying the purse - with her fingers inside the strap, so we can see the beautiful details.  Smart girl.  Beautiful bag.

Milan Fashion Week with Giorgio Armani

by Joi on February 23, 2007

Giorgio Armani worked his magic during Fashion Week in Milan.  Below are three great bags that made the strut down the runway.   Glamour is back and long overdue.  Click each t-nail for the HQ version.

The arm splendor in the second picture is too hot to even acknowledge.  Let’s ignore it.

Skull and Crossbones Bag by Loungelfy

by Joi on February 23, 2007

Loungefly Black And White Skull Bandana Bag
This black handbag by Loungefly is sexy and it knows it.  It owns it and it likes it.

The bag features an allover white heart, skull and crossbones bandana print and a zip closure. Skull and crossbones continue to be a huge deal, and they probably will be for some time.

A matching coin purse is included in addition to inside zip and pouch pockets.  It seals the deal with a Black with white skulls lining.

The   Loungefly Black And White Skull Bandana Bag  is 12″x7″ and can be bought online by clicking either the link above or the picture to the right.

Some Hot Topic stores also carry this bag - so if you’re lucky enough to have a Hot Topic store in a mall near you, you might want to check them out first.  Besides, that way you get to meet the people who work there.  I swear, some of the coolest, most deliciously off beat people in the world work at Hot Topic stores.

Jewel Bunny Handbag from Shop the Bunny.com!

by Joi on February 21, 2007

Playboy HandbagThis Jewel Bunny Handbag  is too sexy for its own good.

The Black PVC handbag has a ridiculously cute studded Rabbit Head and chain link handle.   Measuring 5″ x 8″ x 2″, it’s the perfect size for taking along on a sexy night out.

If you click on the picture, or the link above, you’ll land on a page that’ll show you a few more Playboy bags.  There’s a pink hobo bag with a matching change purse that would turn more heads than the magazine, itself.  Okay, maybe not more, but you get the idea.

While on the website, Shopping the Bunny, be sure to check out the Rock the Rabbit T-Shirts, the shoes, the clothes, and whatever you do - look at the lip gloss.  If you’re addicted to the stuff like I am, you’ll love it.

One of the things that really surprised me is the fact that Shopping the Bunny isn’t only fun, it’s VERY reasonable.  The bag pictured here is less than $15, the high quality lipgloss is less than $10, and there’s a particularly sexy white Rocker Cowboy hat with a gold guitar design (over the bunny) that’s just $34 (linked courtesy of the beauty below).  They also have a lot of clothes that you have to see to believe.  Great Stuff!
